Here Is News From Capgemini: Salary Hikes, Hiring Spree, Will Honor all 8,000 Campus Offers

"We will continue to recruit according to plans and company requirements," Capgemini India chief executive Ashwin Yardi. He also said the hiring will focus on new-age technologies such as digital, cloud, and data analytics across freshers and laterals.

It said this year it will buy job placements in India. Despite the challenges raised by the COVID-19 outbreak, it said Wednesday about 8,000 people would be recruited via campus offers. There are more than 8,000 LOIs (letters of intent) on different campuses, and pressure on demand recruitment will begin once the examinations are completed, as the coronavirus impacts engineering examinations.
The company said it had more than 6,000 employees in Q1 and had about 4,000 professionals and 2,000 freshers. 4,000 people were hired in queue 2, as well. He said that while examinations were delayed due to the COVID-19 crisis, the same trend will continue throughout the year to honor all of the campus offerings offered to college graduates.

Salary hikes for Capgemini, and promotions:

The salary increases will be effective 1 July for senior consultants and managers and above, with increment letters released in June. "This will be done according to plan, and in line with our commitment to ensuring the competitiveness of the market across all grades," Yardi said. "Our 2019 variable pay assessment has been completed and all eligible employees have been paid in conjunction with the March 2020 payroll."

Capgemini also goes ahead with increments and promotions effective April 1 for all junior-level employees. "It would ensure that over 70 percent of our colleagues are protected in this process," Yardi said.

Capgemini's hiring, salary hikes, and promotions come at a time when other IT firms such as Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Ltd, Infosys Ltd, and Wipro Ltd have suspended all such activities for now, though campus offers will be honored. Though TCS and Infosys said they would not lay off any workers on COVID-19 grounds, Wipro said they were considering "all options" to keep costs under control, suggesting that they would not preclude layoffs.
